Meet Danya! She is a student at the University of California, Los Angeles with a major in Cognitive Science and a minor in Digital Humanities. Because Cognitive Science is a widely interdisciplinary field, combining disciplines such as neuroscience, psychology, computer science, and philosophy, she is really passionate about the intersection between art and technology. On campus, I am involved in a computational psychology research lab, focused on investigating the underlying mechanisms of action perception. She hopes to use her valuable experience in and outside of the classroom to explore the field of creative technology and solving problems through User Experience Design and Research. Meet Elizabeth! She goes to Duke University with a major in Spanish and minors in Biology and Chemistry. She is fascinated by the complexity of life at both the microscopic and macroscopic levels, and how science intersects with culture. She conducts research on the prevention cervical cancer through Women-inspired Strategies for Health (WISH) and breast cancer recurrence. Additionally, she tutors adults who speak English as a Second Language (ESL) In the future, she wants to go to medical school and pursue a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
