Today is Instructional Coach Day, and we want to take a moment to celebrate two of the absolute best in the business: Tammy Sass and Libby Stromer! 🌟

Instructional coaches wear a dozen different hats every single day—mentor, thought partner, sounding board, strategist, and cheerleader, just to name a few. Tammy and Libby work tirelessly behind the scenes to support our teachers, elevate classroom learning, and ensure our students have everything they need to succeed.

Whether they are co-planning lessons, analyzing data, sharing innovative teaching strategies, or simply offering an encouraging word, their impact is felt in every hallway and classroom.

Tammy and Libby: Thank you for your dedication, your passion for education, and the constant support you provide to our school community. We are so lucky to have you both!

At Parkview Middle School, we have a student group planning maintenance on our pollinator garden.

We are seeking plant donations to help build a dense, weed-resistant garden. To prevent weeds like thistles and saplings from taking over, we are filling our garden beds with dense, beautiful Iowa-native perennials. If you are able to donate, please select live plants (potted plants or starter plugs) from the organized list below:

+Bradbury's Monarda (Monarda bradburiana)

Mid-Bed Color & Pollinator Magnetics
+Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta)
+Butterfly W**d (Asclepias tuberosa)
+Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)
+Orange Coneflower / Goldsturm Coneflower (Rudbeckia fulgida 'Goldsturm')
+Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum)
+Foxglove Beardtongue (Penstemon digitalis)

Back Layer & Heavy-Duty Space Fillers
+Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum muticum or P. virginianum)

Donation Guidelines:
+Format: Starter plugs or potted plants (seeds are difficult to establish in our existing soil setup).
+Labeling: Please keep the plant tag attached (when possible), so students can place items in the correct garden layer.
+Drop-off Location: Main office or wheelbarrow by the bike rack at the main entrance (door W1).
