We’re a month into summer! Hard to believe!

How are you & your family doing with screen time? Hopefully this is a good reminder to intentionally give our attention to God, each other, our friends & community & the needs around us!

“I’m bored!”

or a close runner-up these days..”Can I play a game on your phone?”

Well, let us empower you as parents!
Boredom is good for your kid! (And for adults! 👀)
Defaulting to a phone whenever we are bored is handicapping our ability to grow through reading or express ourselves through creativity- one of our superpowers as human beings made in God’s image!

Prioritize reading & make it fun by creating a cozy reading spot! Make space & provide supplies for creative expression in your home! Then point to these things as a first choice before screens the next time you hear…”I’m bored!”

A 10-year old has less than 3,000 days left of childhood! What can we as parents, guardians, or tutors do to help fill these priceless days?

Instead of defaulting to screens, we can brainstorm ideas now with our kids for summer!

Here are some categories to help get ideas flowing!
* Outdoors
* Family or friends
* Serving others
* Adventures or trips
* Learning a cool skill
* Book challenge & reward

We are with you in the desire to build a beautiful life for our families! Please share with us any cool ideas you come up with!

Last week had Pinwheel out for our annual recreation day!

In addition to kids & families hanging out at the creek, riding the tube slide, & gearing up for the ropes course & three-man swing, was some epic face-painting!

We are so proud of Izzy courageously sharing this with kids her age at FCA! We are also proud of all the kids at FCA who supported her in doing it! We spotted some Firefly kids in the crowd! 🫶🏽

This is such an inspiration to us to boldly & sweetly share the love of God with those around us. Thank you Izzy for your example & for sharing your gifts with others ♥️
