AEP may still feel a little ways off, but there are a few things you can do now to make life easier when it gets here.

Start by getting organized.
✅ Make a current list of your prescriptions.
Write down what you're currently taking so you have an updated list handy when you need it.
✅ Double-check your preferred doctors.
Make a list of the doctors, specialists, pharmacies, or other providers that are important to you.
✅ Think about what's changed this year.

Have you started seeing a new doctor? Had changes to your prescriptions? Are there healthcare needs that weren't on your radar this time last year?
You don't have to make any decisions today.

The goal right now is simply to have the information you'll need in one place so you're not trying to remember everything once AEP arrives.
A little preparation now can make the process feel a whole lot less rushed later.

Save this post so you have the checklist handy when AEP gets closer.

If I could give every new Medicare beneficiary one piece of advice, it would be this:

Don't compare your Medicare decisions to someone else's.

Your doctors...
Your prescriptions...
Your health needs...
Your budget...

They're all unique.

The "best" Medicare plan isn't the one your neighbor has.

It's the one that fits your life.

That's why personalized guidance matters.

Have a friend or family member getting close to Medicare? Share this post with them!

It could help them avoid one of the biggest misconceptions I see.

One of my favorite things to hear from a client is:

"I had no idea!"

Because that's usually followed by a whole lot more confidence.

Medicare isn't difficult because people aren't smart.

It's difficult because there are so many moving pieces.

That's why I always encourage people to ask questions, even if they think they're "simple."
The more you understand now, the more confident you'll feel when it's time to make decisions.

What's one Medicare topic you've always wanted explained in plain English? Let me know in the comments, and I may cover it in a future post!

Let's have a little fun before the weekend.

Without looking it up...

How many different parts of Medicare are there?

Myth:
"If my friend loves their Medicare plan, I should probably get that one too."

Reality:
What works well for one person isn't automatically the best fit for someone else.

Medicare decisions should be based on your own doctors, prescriptions, healthcare needs, and priorities.

That's why I always recommend looking at the whole picture instead of copying someone else's plan.

Have you heard this myth before? Tell me in the comments!

Your Medicare card is a powerful thing. But I want to be transparent with you about its limitations.

Your Medicare card cannot:

👉 Reserve the good beach chair before someone else gets it
👉 Guarantee your grandkids will call you back in a reasonable amount of time.
👉 Make the neighbor stop giving you unsolicited medical advice.
👉 Fix the air conditioning when it goes out in July.
👉 Explain why they call it a "copay" like that clears anything up.
👉 Make the doctor's waiting room any more comfortable.
👉 Stop your adult kids from Googling your symptoms before you can.

What it CAN do is make sure you have real coverage when something real comes up. And honestly that's pretty great.

Tag someone who needed this laugh today!

What would you add to the list?!

Every single person I sit down with before summer gets a copy of this checklist.

Not because I have to give it to them. Because I genuinely want them to feel prepared going into the next few months. I want them to know where they stand. I want them to be able to enjoy their summer without anything sneaking up on them.

And honestly? Everyone deserves that. Not just the people I work with directly.

So I'm putting it here.

The 5 Things to Check About Your Medicare Before Summer Gets Going is the same checklist I walk through with my own clients.

Ten minutes. Plain English.

If you have Medicare, this is for you. If you have a parent or grandparent on Medicare, this is for them too.
Share it. Pass it along.

The more people who feel confident about their coverage going into summer the better.

It is completely free and I am so happy to share it!

Comment the word SUMMER below and I'll send it straight to you.

Is there someone in your life who could use this right now?
