Lakisha Goins is a 1999 graduate of Anderson High School (AHS). After graduating from AHS, Lakisha attended Indiana State University to study Communications and Criminal Justice. Since graduation, she’s been a 911 dispatcher for the past 17 years. She’s most proud that both of her children have followed in her footsteps and graduated from AHS. She’s also proud to have been promoted to Dispatch Supervisor in 2023. As she thinks back to her time at AHS she remembers fondly keyboarding class. She credits Mrs. Kaufman for helping her type over 75 words per minute! This has helped her tremendously in her role as a 911 dispatcher. of our graduates

Yesterday evening we held an appreciation dinner for our substitute teachers, nurses, and secretaries! The evening was filled with food and giveaways from local businesses who, like us, wanted to show appreciation to our substitutes! According to Mrs. Jessie Cmar, who planned and coordinated the event, our substitutes collectively filled 3,220 absences and worked 25,643.75 hours during the 2025-2026 school year! We are so grateful for their support! We also would like to thank Adam Ross with Horace Mann Insurance who sponsored the dinner.

Wren Stewart, who was valedictorian, and Andrew Harris, a fellow Top-20 student, are interning this summer in our IT department. In the fall they will both be attending Anderson University!
