Anderson-Shiro Lunch Ladies Anderson-Shiro Child Nutrition Program provides nutritious and delicious meals to our students!

For breakfast we have a main choice with or without cereal, fruit and a milk. For lunch we have two entrees, (choose one), two vegetables, a fruit, a bread/grain, and a milk.

🥛 Food Safety Fact of the Week 🥛

FACT: Temperatures above 41°F can reduce milk’s shelf life.

For National Dairy Month, remember that milk is a nutritious staple, and proper storage helps keep it fresh and safe.

✔️Store milk at 41°F or below in the coldest part of the refrigerator—not on the door. In walk-in coolers, place milk toward the back and away from the door.
✔️Monitor the temperature of milk and the cooler or refrigerator daily.
✔️Check expiration dates and rotate stock to use the oldest milk first.

💡 Tip: To check the milk temperature inside a carton, insert a sanitized thermometer at least 2 inches into the milk.
