We are excited to announce Catey Habberstad as the April WPM+RE Movers & Shakers Spotlight! A junior in UAA's Weidner Property Management and Real Estate Program, Catey is already interning at the Alaska Mental Health Land Trust, serving as a UAA Senator, and planning a summer 2026 study abroad in London. Oh, and she's received over $5,000 in scholarships along the way.

Join us in celebrating Jenna Whisenhunt, the March Movers & Shakers Spotlight! Jenna has not only excelled academically, repeatedly earning Chancellor’s List honors, but has also been recognized with major awards including:

🏆 Dean’s Competitive Administrative Scholarship
🏆 Lawrence Bayer Business Administration Scholarship

Jenna has immersed herself fully in the program community through events like Speed Networking Night and REAL Connections, and she’s already building an impressive professional foundation as a Property Manager Assistant at Western Commercial Properties.

Whether she’s analyzing financial changes, supporting tenants, or skiing and fly fishing across Alaska, Jenna brings passion, drive, and authenticity to everything she does. And with graduation just around the corner, she’s gearing up to earn her real estate license and launch a career in commercial property management.

We are excited to welcome Rayna Darbonne, MIT & SIT Program Director for Weidner Apartment Homes to campus next week for our monthly WHEELHOUSE Speaker Series. In addition to sharing information about internship and manager-in-training (MIT) opportunities, Rayna will be discussing best practices for resumes, interviews, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the recruiting process! I am excited to hear what she has to say!

Congratulations to Gracie Edgerton, the WPM+RE Program's November student spotlight! A Wasilla native, Gracie has excelled academically, earning multiple scholarships and awards, including a travel award to attend IREM's PropertyCon in Boston, MA. Gracie is currently working as real estate appraisal trainee while completing the final year of her undergraduate degree.

Meet Blaze Williams, our October Movers & Shakers student spotlight and a lifelong Alaskan with a passion for real estate, community, and hands-on learning. From flipping homes with her family to interning at AHFC, Blaze brings energy, experience, and insight to everything she does.

She’s double-majoring in Marketing and Management, active in Phi Theta Kappa, and even dreams of opening her own mechanic/hobby shop. Her advice to fellow students? “Show up, show your dedication, and be excited!”
