Today we celebrate Principal’s Day (Mrs.Bartlett was out on Friday, so we are celebrating her today), and we couldn’t let it pass without recognizing just how special Mrs.Bartlett truly is. 💙

Her dedication to our students, families, and staff shows in everything she does. She leads with kindness, compassion, and a genuine belief in every child’s potential. Whether it’s offering support, celebrating successes, or simply taking the time to listen, she always puts people first.

Our school is a better place because of her leadership and heart. We are so grateful for the care she shows each and every day—it does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for all that you do to make our school community stronger, safer, and full of encouragement. Happy Principal’s Day! 🌟

Today we got to love on Miss Amanda and Miss Emeline for all they do for our school and community. These ladies keep our school running smoothly and truly bring so much joy to our office and team! Happy Administrative Professionals Day to these incredible ladies!

My goodness kindergarten had some fun today!

Kindergarten has been busy learning all about seasons and different types of weather in their classroom! Today, they took their learning outside and used their cloud viewers to hunt for clouds and identify the different types they saw in the sky ☁️🔍

Before heading back in, they made predictions about what they thought a cloud might feel like—soft, fluffy, maybe even squishy! Then then they put their thinking to the test by making their very own “cloud dough.” The students had so much fun exploring and connecting their ideas to a hands-on experience!

Cool things are happening at Ursa Minor! 💜🧸💜 Lucky kids, lucky teachers, lucky team….very lucky Principal lady to be a part of this team that gets to work with these awesome and resilient kids!💜

What an incredible day at Ursa Minor💜 Thank you to the 109 Transportation Company and Colonel Hansen for coming to clap kids in, in honor of the Month of the Military child. A big shout out to the service members also helping to make purple playdough with our awesome MFLC, Miss Ann, and we had youth volunteers too! What a special and wonderful day. Thank you for supporting these strong and resilient kids!💜🧸💜

Boy oh boy these Ursa Minor 3rd-5th Bears really showed out this week with their AKSTAR Summative Assessments. To say I’m proud is an understatement. We still have some makeup testing next week but these kids and their teachers are crushing it! They’ve been focused on working harder to get smarter every day and it is showing! Go on with your bad selves you Ursa Minor Bears!!! We celebrated with some true Alaskan rainy/snowy spring weather extra recess today. Our PreK-2nd grade students and teachers showed our big kids some love and support too! We are a lucky school family and community. 💛🧸💙

We are so proud of all of our students at Ursa Minor! As a school community, we raised over 600 food item donations for ASYMCA, helping support military families in need.

What an AWESOME team of staff and students we have at Ursa! Teamwork truly makes the dream work 💙

We are excited to celebrate the Month of the Military Child with some fun Spirit Fridays throughout April!
