More Classical. More Saints. Thomas More Classical School’s mission begins with what we see in each student: the potential to live well as virtuous citizens.

We aim to develop our students into future leaders of character, guiding them in their journey to discover their God-given charisms, form their faith, and develop their potential to do great things for God and others. Our education will inspire students to seek what is objectively true, good, and beautiful, cultivating a love for wisdom and virtue that will guide them throughout their lives. Thoma

It's coming together - Thomas More Classical School has a great line-up of classroom teachers and announcements about co-curriculars still to come!

Would you be in earnest prayer for the More Team as they prepare to go to Hillsdale College for an intensive week of Literacy and Singapore Math training?

They will have the opportunity to meet colleagues in the network and learn from the Hillsdale College K-12 Education Teacher Support Team as well as begin to develop the culture of TMCS.

Another prayer request - pray for the 4th Grade teacher God has prepared for us, the one we have not yet met. Pray that the person God has for our fantastic 4th Graders puts their hat in the ring and can be hired by the Hillsdale Training week.

It never gets old to post that this is an exciting time in Anchorage, Alaska.

To God be the glory - may all who want this educational opportunity fill our seats!

5th Graders at Thomas More Classical School discuss, learn, and recite from memory Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

6th Graders at Thomas More Classical School discuss, learn, and recite from memory Rudyard Kipling's poem If.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

To some it looks like just UHaul trucks, but what is it really?

It's the school getting ready to launch well.

Two trucks full of desks for our 4th through 6th graders, a bookshelf for each classroom, filing cabinets for each classroom, and lockers for our scholars.

It is men giving of their time on a Saturday to help us get it all to the campus at Unite Church AK.

Thank you to the volunteers, the coordinating efforts of Mr. Spaulding and Mrs. Gottshall, Nick and Kim Strassel who stored the goods for TMCS so generously, and to Residential Mortgage who donated the furniture.
