UMED Farmers
Want something FUN to do on a Tuesday? The UMED Farmers Market is coming back for its second year with three dates!
Join UAA Employee Experience and Providence Alaska the first three Tuesdays in September, the 2nd, 9th, and 16th from 3–6 pm in the VIP parking lot of the Alaska Airlines Center. Vendors will be selling their homemade and locally grown products. I hope to see you there!

If you have ever experienced or spoken to someone who has experienced food insecurity, you know how terrifying it can feel. If you don't pay your rent, you lose your safe place to sleep. If you don't pay for utilities, you might lose heat or electricity, which makes it hard to do your homework. With this in mind, UAA has for decades maintained a food pantry to help free our students from burdens of this nature.
As Silver Seawolves we have an opportunity to contribute our time to not only help combat hunger on our campus, but to also send a message to our students that we care about them and their education enough to show up when we're called to help.
The UAA Spirit Run is coming up on Sept 26, and our UAA family has asked if any of our retirees have time to volunteer and help support the Food Insecurity Fund at UAA! It's a great opportunity to have fun and be part of something positive.

If you're a UAA retiree, please fill out the questionnaire to join with us! I've already confirmed, they are not asking ME or anyone else to volunteer as a RUNNER. I fear there aren't enough medics in Anchorage to make that an option for me. :-)
