Coming Soon! Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment Opens April 23, 2026

Starting kindergarten is a big milestone!

That’s why the Anchorage School District (ASD) is inviting families to take the first step through the ASD Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment process, open April 23 through May 29, then again July 15.

Is my student old enough to start kindergarten in 2026?

Pre-Enrollment will open for students born September 2, 2020 through Sept 1, 2021 for the 2026–2027 school year.

Pre-enrollment is a simple way to get started early so your family is prepared, connected, and ready to go.

Some of our French immersion teachers and interns were able to catch the official restart of the Iditarod on Long Lake in Willow. They spent the day with some of their past, current, and future immersion students. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. 🇫🇷☀️🐾

We know that for many neighborhood families, the School Board’s decision to move programs has been emotional and difficult. Our hearts are with the students, parents, and teachers navigating those changes. ❤️

At the same time, French Immersion at O’Malley continues and we are committed to keeping it strong, stable, and welcoming for both current and future families.

If you or someone you know is exploring school options, ASD has extended the lottery window through March 31st. We are accepting kindergarten and a few first graders for the 2026-2027 school year. 💙🤍❤️
