Mission Statement:
The mission of the PTWA Student Special Interest Group is to connect physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students with each other and the larger professional community, encourage advocacy, and encourage student involvement in PTWA and APTA. About:
The PTWA Student Special Interest Group is a group of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist Assistants students within Washington. We work under PTWA to promote student involvement, organize student events, and connect PT and PTA students across the state to each other. Any SPT or SPTA student within Washington is invited to like our page to stay informed and engaged! Watch for updates from both APTA and PTWA. Also, this page can be used to share resources, start discussions, or even look for housing during clinical rotations. Leadership

About Student Special Interests Groups:
A Student Special Interest Group (SSIG) is a group of students that operates under the state chapter of APTA. The APTA has suggested the following purposes for SSIGs:
1. Provide a format for social interaction between students from different schools within the state.
2. Participate in events promoting the profession of physical therapy and membership in the APTA
3. Create forums allowing students to discuss current topics and issues concerning physical therapy community that relates to students.
4. Represent the interests of SSIG members before the official decision-making bodies of the state, national organization, and other components
5. Encourage student legislative action, involvement, and understanding in issues pertaining to the future of physical therapy
6. Prepare SSIG members for future participation and leadership roles within the APTA

2026 Student Conclave Recap! 💙✨

Can’t believe it’s already been a week! Last weekend, we wrapped up the 2026 Student Conclave, and what an incredible event it was! A huge THANK YOU to all the PT and PTA students who made the effort to attend and made this year’s conclave such a resounding success! Your enthusiasm and engagement made every moment worth it.
