At every threshold of transformation, you held my hand. You waited patiently for me when I was afraid, sat beside me through every dark moment, and taught me how to be brave. We have walked through so many deaths together, so many endings, and so many versions of me that had to be laid to rest so another could emerge.

Now, when transformation comes, I storm through it. But, I wasn’t always this way. You taught me not to fear the death of who I used to be. You taught me that I could grieve what was ending and still have the courage to walk forward. You taught me strength by simply sitting beside me in the darkness until I was ready to stand again. I would not move through life the way I do now if it weren’t for you. You have witnessed every version of me. You have held my hand through every ending and every becoming.
