If you’re not from the south, you may not know that New Orleans’ nickname is The Big Easy! There are multiple theories of how the nickname came about, but locals attribute the widespread use of The Big Easy to the late Betty Guillaud, a gossip columnist from the Times-Picayune. They say that Guillaud used the term first in the early 1970s to compare life in New York City—the Big Apple—to life in New Orleans—The Big Easy.

Don’t miss out on your chance to experience The Big Easy for yourself! Register for Natcon TODAY! BigEZCon.wildapricot.org

This year, Arnold Air Society Squadrons are taking a stand against sexual violence. Arnold Air Society's joint national project, Trafficking, Abuse, Prevention and Support Network (TAPS) supports organizations and movements working to change these statistics.

This year the Joint National Project of Arnold Air Society & Silver Wings is TAPS: Trafficking, Abuse, Prevention and Support Network. AAS cadets and Silver Wings members have been working across the nation to advocate for this JNP and hopefully bring about change. Sadly, as depicted in the photograph, 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the US. It is time we stand up and end this violence and abuse.

Congratulations Allan B. Bunce Squadron! For the month of January, you have been named the Area I's Squadron of the Month!!

Their very own C/Hauver held the squadron's Extended Training Exercise which completed the candidate training for six new recruits. Our Allan B. Bunce Squadron also accumulated over 20 community service hours during the month of December, which brought them closer to their goal of completing 80 community service hours for the semester. Additionally, they redirected the $425 raised for a new Gala/Banquet event, to scholarships for AAS recruits from their squadron for more representation of Area I at .

Great job, Allan B. Bunce Squadron!
