Grassroots Community Organizing

Grassroots Community Organizing (GCO) is an introduction to systems of oppression and community organizing as a tool for change.

GCO is a 5-credit honors anthropology course and is by application only. Note: Class is open to all majors. Students do not have to be members of the Commonwealth Honors College to apply.

Students of color in the urban city, Springfield, MA, have been suffering from gun violence for decades. On April 27th, they will hold a protest in front of SmithWesson Corp and meet the CEO, James Debney. Gun violence is a serious threat to every people in the country.
