Day 9: Siddhidhatri - “Goddess of Supernatural Powers or Siddhis”
Siddhidhatri (सिद्धिदात्री) - Siddhi means supernatural power or meditative ability, and Dhatri means giver. In this form, Durga is seated on a lotus and is four-armed. She holds a lotus, mace, Chakra, and Shankha. Siddhidhatri removes ignorance and provides knowledge.
सिद्धगन्धर्वयक्षाद्यैरसुरैरमरैरपि।
सेव्यमाना सदा भूयात् सिद्धिदा सिद्धिदायिनी।।
siddhagandharvayakṣādyairasurairamarairapil
sevyamānā sadā bhūyāt siddhidā siddhidāyinīll
Worshipped by Siddhas (perfected beings), Gandharvas (celestial musicians),
Yakshas (nature spirits), Asuras (demons), and even Devas (celestial beings).
May Siddhidatri, the bestower of accomplishments, always be worshipped.
सिद्धों, गंधर्वों, यक्षों, असुरों और यहां तक कि देवताओं द्वारा भी पूजित, सिद्धियों की दाता देवी सिद्धिदात्री की सदैव पूजा होती रहें।
