Through a collaborative study of The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, leaders are reading beyond the workday and applying key principles through meaningful discussions, reflection, and team-building activities. Together, we are strengthening trust, collaboration, and collective leadership to better serve our schools, staff, and students.

🐾The P.A.C.E. Academy Has Officially Launched!
The morning was filled with outstanding learning, meaningful connections, and collaboration.
Participants engaged in:
🔹 My Journey: P.A.C.E. Academy 2026- what’s next?
🔹 Strategies for grouping, transitions
🔹 Making Connections, teaching with passion, and reviewing standard operating procedures

In addition to P.A.C.E. Academy activities, our math teachers collaborated on Math Learning Plans to strengthen instruction and support student success.
We sincerely thank our external partners, Chattahoochee-Flint RESA and i-Ready, for investing in and collaborating with our educators today.
This is only the beginning! Putting It All Back Together! 💙💛🐾

What a great night for Panther Nation! Our Sumter County Middle School Panthers secured their second impressive win against Mitchell County!

Kudos to Principal Mitchell, Head Coach Gooden, our student-athletes, cheerleaders, chorus, and band for representing Sumter County with excellence. A special thank-you to our parents and community members for the tremendous turnout and support.

It was truly a Panther night—and we are still on our way UP! 🐾🏈💙

Today, during my Superintendent’s Walk, I visited Sumter County Elementary School and the Accelerated Achievers Academy during lunch. What an awesome experience!

Teaching and learning can be felt throughout the building. I enjoyed meeting with Mrs. Bettis, the school counselor, and Mrs. Tyson, as well as sitting in on a meeting to learn more about the great things happening at the Academy and Sumter County Elementary School.

The students were excited to be at school, excited to enjoy lunch, and excited to take pictures. The energy was positive, the smiles were bright, and everything is headed UP at Sumter County Elementary School!

It is exciting to see a program designed to strengthen leadership and develop leaders from within Sumter County Schools continue to grow!

Last year’s Aspiring Leaders are now advancing to Aspiring Leaders 2.0—taking their leadership development to the next level. This year, these emerging leaders will mentor new teachers, participate in the PACE Academy, and continue building the skills needed to lead effectively.

We are developing better leaders who will inspire, support, and shape the next generation of educators. It is going to be an awesome year in Sumter County Schools!

The future of leadership is bright, and Sumter is headed UP!

A Wonderful Welcome to the Panther Family! 💙💛🐾
Tonight was a huge success as Sumter County Schools welcomed our newly hired teachers with a special Newly Hired Teacher Welcome Dinner at Rosemary & Thyme Restaurant at the Windsor Hotel!
The evening was about more than sharing a meal—it was about connection and belonging. We had the opportunity to welcome our newest educators, share the vision and mission of Sumter County Schools, introduce the P.A.C.E. Academy — Panther Academy for Coaching & Educator Excellence, and reflect on the energy and Panther Pride we will carry into the 2026-27 school year!
As we begin this journey together, we want every new teacher to know that you are valued, you are supported, and we are excited that you chose Sumter County Schools!
Our message for the year remains clear: “Putting It All Back Together!” One relationship, one classroom, one student, and one success at a time.
