Good morning, everyone.
I am proud to announce that Tenure at a Crossroads, Again? has been completed and is now in press.
My good friend and colleague for 20 years now, Dr. G.L.A. "Gigi" Harris and I completed what has been a 10-year-long project.
What separates our book from others on this subject is Krista Lee 's contribution to it as an elementary school teacher. Krista's insight tells us what we, as college professors and administrators, can expect the college classroom and campus to be like in 10 years. Her insight as a "street-level bureaucrat," aka elementary classroom teacher, clearly separates it from all others.
Also, this book would not be possible without our friend's introduction, Jeanette Beatrice Taylor. An internationally renown education warrior, social justice leader, and Chicago City Alderwoman, Jeanette's contribution adds immeasurable value to the book.
Last, but not least, I want to recognize Natalia Ermasova. Her comparison between tenure in the United States and Russia is timely indeed.
Elizabeth Kelley Rhoades quote best describes the book, "It is a hard read but a must read."

The Fight of the Century Granddaddy was never a sports fan but he was always up for a good fight. His fellow jurors gave him an excuse to join their demands to listen to the Rocky Marciano/Archie Moore fight that damn near led to a judicial rebellion. The jurors were sequestered. They were banned from listening to the radio, reading a newspaper, or talking with anyone who was not a jury member....

Granddaddy mentioned, usually in the heat of an argument, that the Klan burned a cross down the road from the Delta Motel in Sumner, the place where the jurors were sequestered. I do not think Granddaddy was frightened by the K*K. He was more frightened of the cinders from the burning cross catching the hotel on fire. When Granddaddy was in a more jovial mood, usually when children were around or he was eating a bowl of his infamous whiskey ice cream, Granddaddy told stories about staying at the hotel....
