This position is part-time, typically 12 consecutive Saturdays (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM, hours may vary). You'll work alongside our instructional staff to perform, teach, and reinforce EFDA functions, supervise students, and ensure safe dental lab/equipment operation.

WE’RE HIRING: Culinary Arts Teacher (Full-Time, 9-Month School Year)

Are you a culinary professional ready to step out of late-night restaurant hours and lead the next generation of chefs? GACTC is seeking a passionate, qualified Culinary Arts Teacher to join our thriving program for the 2026–2027 school year!

In this full-time role, you’ll design and deliver dynamic curriculum, guide students through hands-on commercial kitchen labs, and prepare them for successful careers in the culinary industry.

Key Requirements (Must meet ONE of the following):
• At least 4 years of paid, full-time industry experience in culinary arts.
• At least 2 years of industry experience PLUS a Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 4 years of full-time postsecondary teaching experience in culinary arts.

PA teacher certification is a plus, but not required to apply! (Courses leading to certification will be completed after hire).

Teamwork and quick thinking saved the day!
We are thrilled to share this Altoona Mirror feature highlighting four incredible Hollidaysburg Area High School students who stepped up during a medical emergency on their bus.
We are especially proud of our two GACTC students:
Alexis Smith (Health and Medical Science program, instructor Alisha Clingerman)
Skyla Horton (Health & Medical Sciences program, instructor Jenny Damin)

Working together alongside fellow students Travis Zerby and Jenna Anderson, they took immediate action to stop the bus, contact emergency dispatchers, and care for the driver until help arrived. Alexis and Skyla put their CTE training into action when seconds counted, showing the true power of hands-on healthcare education! • Role: Provide hands-on instruction, supervise lab practice, and participate in program evaluations.

Qualifications:
• Current Pennsylvania EFDA license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an EFDA.
