Mike Folan for Alton School Board
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Mike Folan, a retired teacher who spent 42 years in the classroom—including 18 years at Alton Central and 20 years at Prospect Mountain High School. After a year of retirement, I have decided I want to keep serving by supporting our schools. I believe public education is vital for a healthy and thriving community.
During the course of my career I also served as the assistant principal of Alton Central for four years. As an educator, I served as the union president for numerous years. I understand the needs of both sides. I believe this knowledge and insight will be useful in building smooth, meaningful, and productive relationships among all stakeholders- students, staff, administration, and parents.
Alton is a special place. It is my aim to honor our history and culture as a school community as we make our way through changing times.
I ask for your support on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. You can cast your ballot at Prospect Mountain High School from 7am-7pm.
For my former students who are away at school, you can request your absentee ballot from the Town Clerk’s Office.
