BTE 💚 Sonoma Academy

Sophomore year, here we go! 🌿🔥

Last Tuesday we welcomed SA’s sophomore class to kick off the year together—tending the land (Thanks Jennifer Becker!) with permaculture practices, learning to tend fire, making beautiful art and gifts with their hands, and calling in their intentions for the year ahead.

Joy, gratitude, creativity, reflection, and real connection—all in a day outside.

We’re stoked to be kicking off what we hope is a long and deepening partnership with Sonoma Academy, helping more young people get outside, get their hands in the dirt, and grow together.

Thank you Logan for sharing your story 💯

Some of our guys had the opportunity to hear this brothers story while backpacking deep in the Yosemite Wilderness on a 10 day trip

Logan had just set up his camp of 20+ people who are going to live there for the next 5 months! This crew is going to be tending the trails and loving up on the forest!

It was inspiring to hear his story and how going into the wild has helped him find his gifts, his purpose, and self love ❤️

Logan has a career working for the CCC and is such a passionate human, it’s beautiful to see someone use their life force to tend and fight for the Earth 🌍

Props, gratitude, and appreciation for this young man right here!

Jameson has been rocking with us for the last 3 years and we are glad that he’s part of the Back to Earth fam 💯

This dude has such a big heart and really cares for people.
He shows up on trail in so many ways, leads by example, & values working together. He is deeply connected to the natural world which means often times he comes back to share some little creature he found. And It’s beautiful to see how he isn’t afraid to express his creativity and truly be himself.

We are proud of you Jameson for all the ways you are growing and evolving. It’s an honor to witness that and to walk alongside you in these mountains that we both love so much!

Looking forward to seeing the man you become in this world 🪶

Meditation and focusing one’s mind through stillness isn’t an activity that teens run toward 🙃

The amount of energy and the amount of thoughts that run through their system at any given moment means their attention can be all over the place

Yet, when given the opportunity to slow down.. when the screens & other distractions aren’t present… and when they truly get a break from all the school work, chores, and things people are asking them to do…

They naturally find themselves taking moments of stillness and reflection 💯

And sometimes they’ll even join in on actually channeling their attention, focus, and mind 🔥

The youth of today are craving meaningful connection 💯 and they often jump at the opportunity to express their gratitude when given the chance and space

We hold the vision that our culture is one that holds gratitude at the forefront of our lives

And not just for the human realm, but for all of creation 🪶

Two long standing Bay Area Non - Profit organizations are joining hands in creating, cultivating, and offering a unique offering 🔥

Back to Earth’s WILD Scholars Program and YouthAlive’s Violence Interrupter Team have come together to offer a 7 day transformative backpacking trip this summer, specifically for the young men of Oakland, CA

This special opportunity is for young men between the ages of 14-18!

We are offering a trip limited to 12 spots on a 7 day summer backpacking trip into Tahoe National Forest for FREE

Each of the 12 participants will receive a FULL - WILD Scholarship - that means that everything is fully funded and provided 💯

Meaning!

Registration cost ($2700 value), food, gear, transportation, pre trip mentoring, & post season celebration are all included!

All you have to do is come to the info session - go through a small application process and say YES to the opportunity 🪶

We are so excited about this collaboration and we want to let you know how to learn more!
