Just when we thought the orange dogtooth calcite was the star, we noticed everything else happening in this incredible Brazilian cabinet specimen.

It also features tiny pearly calcite crystals across a sparkling bed of amethyst, finished with beautiful blue agate banding around the edge. Every time you look, there’s another detail to discover.

Would this one earn a place in your mineral cabinet?

We have a new rule at Wandering Stones: the wanderer gets to touch their freshly opened geode before any of our Rock Stars do.

That sounds easy—until a Las Choyas coconut geode like this opens!

Katie’s geode revealed sparkling crystals, dramatic dendrites, flowing layers, and an incredible miniature landscape. We saw a tiny city overlooking a sandy beach, but every person noticed something different.

What do you see inside?

Apparently, becoming a crazy cat lady was only a stepping stone. 😂

Amy has officially become a crazy rock lady—and this spectacular geode is responsible.

It went home with another Wanderer, but Amy is still thinking about its beautiful metallic banding, unusual formations, and the tiny crystal “city” hidden inside. Working in a rock shop clearly does not make practicing self-restraint any easier!

Fellow rock people, have you ever missed a mineral specimen that wasn’t even yours? Tell us about the rock that got away. 💎

Plot twist: neither owner of the geode-cracking machine had ever personally cracked a geode on it. 😂

So Amy and Nate chose the heart-shaped “Lover’s Geode” for their very first crack together. They confidently predicted three chambers…and discovered one gorgeous, sparkling cavity filled with druzy crystals, botryoidal formations, and plenty of fascinating mineral details to investigate. ✨

And yes—a geode this romantic absolutely deserved a kiss. 💜

Before it opened, would you have guessed one chamber or three?

Tina admitted she has a little problem… and naturally, the rest of us decided to enable it. 😂🥥

She chose a Las Choyas coconut geode from Mexico, made her prediction, and waited through one very suspenseful crack.

Inside was a deep, sparkling crystal pocket with calcite that glowed under the light. ✨ That “pleased face” says everything.

Would you have chosen this one? Tell us what you would have predicted before the reveal!

Tammy and her family had already cracked smaller geodes at home for their great-granddaughters—apparently leaving the driveway covered in quartz thanks to the kids and their hammers! This time, Tammy stepped up to our big wheel to crack open a Las Choyas coconut geode.

She was hoping for purple. We were hoping for calcite.

When the geode finally popped, it revealed two beautiful halves with purple crystals, calcite, blue agate around the outside and even siderite.

“We all got our wishes here.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! Which feature would have been at the top of your wish list?

Come crack a geode with us at Wandering Stones inside Kitsap Mall. 💜

Bill has a five-gallon bucket full of geodes at home—and he’s been trying to crack them open with a hammer. 🔨

The problem? It isn’t always easy to get a clean split.

So Ciara loaded a Moroccan geode into our geode cracker and handed Bill the wheel…

One quick pop. Two beautifully matched halves. A sparkling crystal-lined center. And absolutely no “big muscles” required. 😂

Bill’s official review:

“That was easy…and that broke really nice and clean. I like that.”

Then he immediately asked if we carry display stands. That’s how you know it was a good one. 🤍

Would you choose the hammer or the geode cracker?

Ciara picked the geode, chose exactly where it should crack, and trusted her instincts. Blake had never opened one before, so neither of them knew what would be waiting inside this Las Choyas coconut geode from Mexico.

The result? A sparkling cavity filled with dramatic white calcite formations that Ciara could only describe as “crystallized mold.” 😂 Honestly… we kind of see it!

Merry chose a Trancas geode from Mexico—and before it even reached the cracking wheel, she spotted a touch of pink opal on the outside. 👀🩷

With a little help from Rock Star Ty, she turned the wheel, waited for that unmistakable POP, and revealed a sparkling crystal pocket with the sweetest little flower-like formation inside. 🌸

Her “Oh my gosh!” says everything.

Would you have picked this geode? And what do you see in Merry’s little crystal flower?
