I need you guys to be thinking about running for a local chapter office for next year! If interested send me a message on FB to let me know you want to be considered and what office. The school is looking towards offering a class that I can put my most interested members in. We can work on competitions and a new certification in Disaster Preparedness called CERT. I will need to know asap if you would like to be included!

Bacon County HOSA is back from the HOSA NLC in Orlando. One highlight was seeing our keynote speaker JR Martinez (Dancing With the Stars Mirror Ball trophy winner last season). It was so cool meeting HOSA members from places like New Jersey, Michigan, Hawaii, and Alaska. Kyle Southerland represented us and Georgia as GA HOSA Secondary VP. Way to go Kyle! Would love to take you all to Nashville for the 2013 NLC!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped out at the Georgia Blueberry Festival this past Friday and Saturday. You guys that volunteered your time to help your club are awesome!

I need to know if there are any members out there who can help out at the Blueberry Festival this weekend. It would be a great opportunity for you to raise money for a trip of your choosing for next year and pay your dues. The festival starts at 4 p.m. on Friday and goes until that evening (10 pm), and then again on Saturday from about 9-4. If you would help 1-2 hours, you could get a part of the profit. I need to know if I will have some help so I know how much ice cream to get today. Respond asap, and give me the dates and time you can help!

We were able to get enough blood donations to earn a $500 schloalrship today! Thanks to everyone that donated!

The Bacon County HOSA Club will be sponsoring a blood drive tomorrow from 11-4 p.m. in the Healthcare Science lab. For people 16 (need a parent permission form)and older (need a photo id). The students are trying really hard to earn a $1000 scholarship. We need 47 donations. Tell ALL your contacts! Students that give get pizza at lunch on Tuesday!

Congratulations to our President, Kyle Southerland, the new Secondary Vice-President for Georgia HOSA - our first state HOSA officer from Bacon County. Thank you to all of the club members that went to the State Leadership Conference - Cheyenne, Megan, Zach, Jason, Samantha, and Kyle. I am so proud of you - Mrs. Tucker.

The guest speaker for today's meeting was Joey Jarrad, a medical student at the Medical College of Georgia! We hoped you learned a lot from him today about the process of becoming a doctor! Next HOSA meeting is January 11 after second block in Mrs. Tucker's room. Joey Jarrard will be our guest speaker. He will discuss what it is like to become a doctor! We also have ALOT of important details to discuss about competition at SLC in March (Athens).
