Today we switch to flower, well 13 on 11 off for 2 weeks and 12/ 12 after that. They have been going crazy, hope to max out this grow to about 6' or so. Lots of room in the tent. Happy growing all!
Welcome to The Hydroponic Dummy! Around here, size doesn’t matter—it’s all about that pH balance. Just a guy with pipes, high hopes, and no clue what I’m doing.
If it’s green and might raise an eyebrow, it’s right in my wheelhouse. Let's grow together!

Who would watch me trim these and train if I did lives or videos? Just curious 🤔

🌱 **Exciting Update on My Hydroponic Adventure!** 🌱
This weekend marks a huge defoliation, and I’m ready to let them grow into a second net! Hoping to see a full sea of green in this run! 🌿💚
**Current Stats:**
- **Water Temp:** 66°
- **pH:** 5.7
- **PPM:** 1250
- **PPFD:** 567 to 612 (depending on meter position)
- **VPD:** 1.18 (average over the last 3 weeks)
Using General Hydroponic nutrients, a Niwa controller, vevor water chiller, spider farmer dehumidifier and humidifier, 1 se1200 4x6 light, 1 mars hydro light ( i do not remember wich one lol), 6" inline exhaust fan, 6" inline fresh air fan( both vented from the roof of my home), 2 clip fans, 1 fan on the bottom, gorilla 5x9 tent, one diy rdwc hydro system.
For my first hydro run, I think it’s coming along nicely! These seeds were started on 2-8-26, and I placed the germinated seeds in the system on 2/10/26. That makes it 71 days since the system start date! 🎉
I’m thinking about 3 or 4 more weeks before switching to flower. I like to do a slow transition to the flower schedule, so I plan to gradually lower the light cycle over 9 days from 18/6 to 13/11, hold there for 2 weeks, and finally end on a 12/12. 🌞🌙
Anyone else do this method? Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

You do not need a fancy packing device for J's or B's. A Juicy Jay machine and a bamboo skewer, and a Havana leaf are all you need. Pack it tight half way, put the skewer in and pack more tight on top. Roll her up in the leaf, and pull the skewer, done. Perfect draw every time, no boating or running and no 70 or 80 dollar investment it garbage. Roll on growmies!

Half done, now I need to do the other side. They are getting big. The few early breaks I had have all healed up and are stronger than ever. Happy growing all!

Half trimmed half not. Should have time tonight to get the other side. They are becoming monsters, i waited a bit to long in between training days, oh well they are looking good either way. Nutrient change in 3 days, I have been going every 14 days and they seem happy with it. Happy growing all!

What is everyone's opinion on nutrients? I know they all work in their own way. I am currently using salt based in my hydroponic grow and living soil for my food crops.
What is your choice and why?
Thanks for stopping by. Have a good one growmies.

The net is on! Time to start making these girls get ready to have a sea of green. The initial training gave me a good start. With the volume in plan to get on this run there will be 2 or 3 rows of net in total. Water changes will be a bit more frustrating with that net so low, but I think i can use the chiller pump as my outflow to drain the system. Gonna test that theory tomorrow, if it works I will be plumbing a drain connection in to the chiller out line with a valve. Happy growing all. Let me know what you guys think about the water idea.

These photos are 22 hours apart. I think i have some happy girls here. Look healthy and happy after a slightly heavy defoliaton.
Love a good rebound!

🌱✨ Before & After: My Trimming Adventures! ✨🌱
A little before and after action for ya! I swear I spend more time planning what to chop than actually doing it. 😅 In the moment, I second-guess myself like I’m deciding on a tattoo!
And guess what? I broke another one tonight! 🙈 Splintered her back up like a clumsy surgeon, but hey, these girls don’t seem to mind! They just keep coming back looking even better. Talk about resilience!
Next nutrient change in 6 days—woohoo! 🎉 I really need to get some LST clips because, let’s be real, this wire tie situation is about as elegant as a giraffe on roller skates. But hey, it was free, so here we are!
How do you guys train your plants? Do you break them like I do, or are you all pros at this? 😂 Let’s hear your best (and worst) training stories!
Have a great day, growmies! 🌍💚
