🎯 Unhealthy communication is one of the top 3 k*llers of any relationship

This is especially true w/ your kids😕

Much of it begins w/tone as well as what’s being said🗣

✔️Your kids should receive just as much patience and grace that you give your partner or spouse NOT less

Think about it…🧘🏾‍♀️

👧🏾👱🏻Adolescence is already a tough time in your child's life.

One of the quickest ways to lose their trust is to blast their mistakes, shortcomings or embarrassing moments to others🤦🏾‍♀️

🚫 ESPECIALLY other family members whom they have to see again and whose opinions they care about.

What they share with you should remain between you and them 🫂 unless they given you permission to share w/someone else.

This is the best way to keep communication open 🗣

Don't break that trust

WELCOME TO ALL MY NEW FOLLOWERS!! 🥳

I am a Licensed Therapist and Parenting Strategist for the last 11 years where I help moms break generational patterns, habits, and cycles.

I offer several services including 1:1 sessions and numerous digital classes to help you do just that! (that link in my profile will tell ya all about it 🙂)

Just wanted to say thank you for being here. 💜

Here's a few fun facts about me to help you get to know me better:

When I was little my mom made up a song to distract me because she said I asked questions about EVERYTHING alllll the time.

I absolutely LOVE birds!! Parrots, Cockatiels, Cockatoos, all of emmmmm. I wanna get a Caique Parrot one day

In grade school, I loved to compete in Spelling bees and actually won a few. Nerd on deck! Ayyyye🏆

I will NEVER Skydive or Zipline. I’m a wimp🗣 and I’m ok with that. (I said what I said)

Whenever I hear reggae music, my alter ego comes out and I am no longer myself. I start talking loud, yelling ayyyyyyyye and dancing all over the place. Just ask my husband 😂

🛑😱 In case you didn't know, research shows that your parenting style is closely linked to causing depression or anxiety in your child or not.

❌Don't cause childhood trauma by making these mistakes!

Do any of these look familiar? Trying to break the cycle with your own child? 🤔🫣

✅Click the link in bio to invest in YOU and your child by getting the Empowered Parents Masterclass in order to learn more about what parenting techniques are healthiest.

👀Being REACTIVE means "acting in response to a situation rather than creating or controlling it."

❌With reactive parenting, you allow your emotions to control you and therefore this controls how you react to your tweens/teens.

Your emotions are in control and not logical or critical thinking skills. 😬

🙋‍♀️However, being RESPONSIVE means you respond with curiosity and interest to understand.

Being Responsive keeps your child open and talking while being Reactive makes them secretive and shut down. 😉

If you need help with this and other techniques to break negative habits, patterns, and cycles, join my email list by tapping my bio link and the button that says Join My Email list. 💜

📣 On this first day of Black History Month, I thought I would give a little reminder that God is ok with you having a therapist.

It doesn't make Him less powerful but it does make Him more real because you no longer have to sort through the clutter called trauma, abuse, negativity, and condemnation. 💯✊🏾

✅️ Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
