NOVA Band Concert this Thurs. (March 3) combined with the Alexandria City H.S. Wind Ensemble and music faculty from Radford. Dr. Dennis Edelbrock will be joining the NOVA band as trumpet soloist on a performance of the Harry James trumpet concerto. Radford University faculty who will be performing are Matthew Cataldi on piano, Robert Trent on guitar, Wayne Gallops on piano, and Dayl Burnett on trombone. The bands will be playing music by Clifton Williams, Julie Giroux, Brian Balmages, Alex Shapiro, Steven Bryant, Michael Giacchino, E.E. Bagley, and J.P. Sousa.
Audience members will be required to wear masks and encouraged to socially distance as much as possible. The air filtration system in the concert hall is excellent. Hope to see you there! See less

The Annandale NOVA Symphony is now at Alexandria and is the new college-wide NOVA Symphony Orchestra!!!!! Come join us for our first concert, this Saturday at 4:00PM!!! Hope to see you there!

On Thursday, Oct. 28, the NOVA Alexandria Band will perform in a joint concert with the George Mason University Wind Symphony in the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center on the NOVA Alexandria Campus. Come hear staples in the band repertoire, including two pieces by composer and conductor Mark Camphouse. The GMU Wind Symphony will be premiering a new composition by Catherine Fields that will feature flutist soloist, Samantha Clarke. The NOVA band is featuring two new original compositions by community members who play in the band, Matt Bandman and Jack Dusek, and a new arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture by NOVA student, Charles Stolpe. Concert: 8-10pm
Admission and parking: FREE (Donations will be accepted.)
