Alpha Xi Alumnae Chapter of Virginia was established by Twenty-one amazing and experienced women from various undergraduate and graduate chapters across the nation. As Alpha Xi is located in the Alexandria, VA area, it also filled with rich African American History - including vibrant Black populations dating to the 18th century, one of the largest slave trading operations, and America’s first Sit-Down Strike in the early days of the Civil Rights movement.
There are a few remaining events some locations in the City is hosting regarding Black History Month - if you are interested please attend! Or visit one of the many historic sites in Alexandria that is open year round.
Black History Month goes beyond just February - let’s continue to honor and celebrate all the achievements and contributions always.
