Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our 9th graders and new students to Edison High School! 🦅We are so excited to welcome our newest Eagles and can’t wait to see everyone on Monday, August 24.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing cheerleaders, band, student ambassadors and leadership volunteers who helped make the day so special and gave our newest Eagles such a warm welcome!

Today, we were thrilled to welcome our new principal, Justin Simmons, to Thomas A. Edison High School! We celebrated with our incredible faculty and staff, Region 3 leaders, our feeder elementary and middle school partners, and members of the School Board.

We are so excited to have Principal Simmons officially join the Eagle community and look forward to all the great things ahead under his leadership. We know that together, we will continue to build on the incredible work happening at Edison and create even more opportunities for our students and staff to soar! 🦅💙

Headed to a varsity football game this fall? 🏈 Make sure you know the new bag policy before you go.

To help keep entry safe and efficient, spectators may bring only:

- Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
- Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
- Medical and diaper bags, which are permitted but subject to inspection

🚫 Backpacks, purses, f***y packs and tote bags are not permitted. Outside food and beverages, sporting equipment and other items prohibited by FCPS policy are also not allowed.

Beginning this season, all spectators will also participate in security screening using the same weapons detection technology introduced in FCPS high schools last school year.

Please plan to arrive a little earlier than usual to allow time for screening.

And a reminder: Middle school students and younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult who remains with them at the event.
