Representative John Lewis did the hard work and left a blueprint for the rest of us.

In 2017 I wrote him a letter telling him how much I admire, appreciate and wanted to participate in his inspiring work. Not long after I received this in the mail and have displayed it proudly in our home ever since.

He inspired me to travel to Atlanta to work as a poll watcher for campaign for governor in 2018 where I observed Georgia Republicans incredibly racist voter suppression tactics in action.

There is a lot of work to be done.

A true American Hero. Rest In Peace.
