On February 21st, TJ Science Olympiad wrapped up the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational! We got an impressive 1st place overall! In total, we took home 45 medals from Carnegie Mellon University! Team Ice Bear won 1st in Electric Vehicle, Material Science, and Robot Tour, 2nd in Chemistry Lab, Code Busters, and Geologic Mapping, 3rd in Microbe Mission, Optics, and Write It Do It, 4th in Ecology and Entomology, 5th in Air Trajectory, Astronomy, and Helicopter! Team Grizzly placed 1st in Astronomy, Ecology, Fossils, and Geologic Mapping, 2nd in Entomology and Forensics, 3rd in Dynamic Planet, 4th in Air Trajectory, Anatomy and Physiology, Bungee Drop, Electric Vehicle, and Experimental Design, 5th in Material Science, and 6th in Optics, Robot Tour, and Wind Power! Team Panda took home 1st place in Entomology and Tower, 2nd place in Air Trajectory, Disease Detectives, and Dynamic Planet, 3rd in Experimental Design, 4th in Forensics, Fossils, and Helicopter, and 5th in Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry Lab, Codebusters, Electric Vehicle, Geologic Mapping, and Microbe Mission!
TJSO has also competed in the University of Virginia Invitational where we placed 1st place overall! In total, we took home 51 medals from the University of Virginia! We are proud of our teams for their amazing performance at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational and the University of Virginia Invitational and are excited for our upcoming States hosted by the University of Virginia on March 29th, 2025!
