Science came alive for Mrs. Caldwell’s 4th grade scientists at Stuard Elementary! These young scientists explored solids, liquids, and gases by making vanilla ice cream. They discovered how salt lowers water’s freezing point, helping melt icy roads and transform a liquid mixture into a frozen treat!

Our 5th grade scientists at McCall Elementary were hard at work today in Mrs. Garcia’s class dissecting owl pellets purchased through our AEF grant for food webs!

Students carefully sorted bones, compared structures to a bone identification chart, and used their observations to identify what owls eat and how organisms are connected within a food web. This is exactly what science should look like: hands-on, curious, focused, and full of discovery.

Proud of Mrs. Garcia and her students for thinking like scientists, working carefully, and bringing learning to life. Thank you to AEF for helping provide experiences that make science meaningful for students. Great things are happening in science at McCall!

Coder Elementary 5th grade Science students did a little mini project where the students had to create their own bird species. The students were studying the structures of plants and animals and what function they play in their survival in their environment.

Mrs. King took some of them and AI generated them coming to life!

Celebrating the incredible hard work, curiosity, and creativity of our science students at the Coder Elementary Science Fair.

We are so proud of these young scientists for asking thoughtful questions, designing investigations, and sharing their learning with confidence. Events like this remind us what is possible when students are given the chance to explore, discover, and grow.

A big thank you to the teachers and administrators at Coder Elementary for hosting and supporting this meaningful experience. Your leadership, encouragement, and commitment to students helped create a space where scientific thinking and student voice could shine.

This event reflects the heart of Aledo ISD’s mission - Ensuring high levels of learning for all students, and its vision - "Growing greatness through exceptional experiences that empower learners for life." These aren't slogans - its what drives all levels of instruction in Aledo ISD

Coder’s Science Fair was a wonderful example of both in action.
