Happy Last Day of School! Have a great summer and we’ll see you all next year! 😎 Congrats to all of our awesome 5th graders heading off to middle school. We are so proud of all your hard work and glad we got to celebrate with a final walk through the school, a special ceremony with your families and community, and an EPIC Double Bubble Party yesterday. 🫧 We will miss you but can’t wait to see all of the cool things you do next! Bandelier loves an art contest! Here are some of the amazing postcard designs our BES artists submitted for this most recent art challenge, in coordination with Nob Hill: 100 Stories for 100 Years ✍️ 🐻

It’s a BIG day for our 5th graders tomorrow! We will have a special Moving Up ceremony for 5th grade fams in the morning 🐻 and then from 4-6pm 5th graders are invited to a special party put on by parents in their grade. Please attend with your 5th grader (this is an after school event so they will need to be brought by their adult) and don’t forget their towel! 🫧

We’re having another mixer! Please join us this Tuesday, May 12th, from 4-6pm at High and Dry Brewery. If you have been wanting to get more involved this is a great way to meet other PTA families and get all your burning PTA questions answered. Or just come to celebrate another great school year. Hope to see you there!

It’s hard to believe, but our final PTA meeting of the year is this Wednesday, May 13th. As usual, there will be pizza at 6 pm, and the meeting will start at 6:30. Childcare will be provided. All families are welcome to attend. We will be voting on officers for next year, so we’d love to have as many people show up as possible. 🐻🎉

It’s almost time for Bandelier’s end-of-the-year Play Day event: Thursday, May 21st, 2026! 🛝💦 In celebration of our Banda Bears’ hard work throughout the year we invite each grade level out to the grassy field to rotate through 8 stations for some good, old fashioned FUN (like tug of war, water activities, parachute, etc)!

Grade Level Activity Times:
Kinder/ 1st 9:30am - 11:15am
4th/ 5th 11:15am - 1:00pm
2nd/ 3rd 2:00pm - 3:45pm
(except Mr. Worthington’s class, who will participate 2-3:45)

As you can imagine, this event takes lots of coordination and we would appreciate your help! Here are a few ways you can volunteer & join in on the fun:

1. Station Runners (Adults with any APS Volunteer Clearance): Help run a station out on the grassy field, whenever works for your schedule! Sign up here:

2. Classroom Chaperones (2 per class, must have Unsupervised APS Clearance): Accompany the class to and from the field, take students to the restroom, encourage teamwork and cooperation for their class to have fun, monitor behavior, and help them stay on task and listen at each station. Join us April 25th for Bandelier’s Spring Fling!

All current and future Banda Bears, alumni, families, friends, and community members are invited to join us for this wonderful event where we uplift student artistic contributions. We will have music, dancing, art, plants for sale, a performance from our Jump Rope Team, and much more. Plus, our Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be happening in the Library! We hope you can make it!
