Intensive Training Program (ITP) is a 5 day long training designed to give IAWS students a boot camp style experience in the skill sets and disciplines of being a safe and efficient aid worker. This is a 5 day course and is taught in and around the beautiful city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Instructors are all experts in their field and have been, or are currently working members of their discipli
nes. What you will learn:
-Aid work ethics & cultural sensitivity
-Physical & mental strength
-Basic medical response & ethics (certifications from the American Heart Association)
-Health & nutrition in the field (diseases and prevention)
-De-escalation & conflict resolution tactics
-Self defense
-Outdoor wilderness & urban survival skills
-Communication tactics
-Logistical solution tactics
-The past, present, & future of disaster/crisis/humanitarian response
-At home community relations (fundraising, outreach, & awareness techniques)
What you will gain upon completion & passing of the course:
-Certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, & de-escalation.
-An award of completion along with a letter of competency from IAWS.
-Opportunities to serve in IAWS campaigns & IAWS partner campaigns around the world.
-The training, knowledge, and confidence to be the best of the best! This course will give the student the ability to focus on their skills. Giving them everything they need to act alone in high stress environments as well as how to work in a team. The student will become efficient in helping others and in taking care of themselves. What is the cost?:
- Full Intensive Training Program tuition for out state Students = $1,000 . This includes housing, food,training gear (i.e. ruck sack, uniform, books, first aid supplies, etc.), and certification cost for the 5 day course and a 6th day to relax before departure. We can help with travel cost depending on circumstance.
-Full Intensive Training Program for New Mexico residence = $800 for non housed students and $875 for those who will need housing. This includes housing (for students that need it), food,training gear (i.e. ruck sack, books, first aid supplies, etc.), and certification cost for the 5 day course. How to enroll:

3) Once you have been excepted into the Intensive Training Program at IAWS, you will receive a call from one of our representatives with further instructions. (NOTE: There is a $300 deposit for each student to be paid once student has been excepted for enrollment and has registered. There are only 10 students allowed per course, so it is important to register as quick as possible to hold your place.) Fundraising Options:
Unfortunately, there are no current scholarships available for the IAWS Intensive Training Program. But We do offer fundraising materials for students to help them raise funding for the course. Think of it as your first homework assignment as aid workers often raise funding in their communities for their missions. If you would like these materials, let us know when you contact us. This is a search engine that donates to IAWS and many other causes every time you use it to search for something on the internet. It also donates a percentage of your purchase if you use it to shop online at most online stores. Please use this and become a supporter of IAWS.
This week, IAWS will be offering CPR/AED classes for $15 for the first ten students to sign up. This is an amazing deal and it will help us catch up on some past bills. We need at least 10 students to show up to make this happen. It is a two year cert from the american heart association. Register now! Email me if interested.

IAWS is looking for instructors with background in outdoor survival, international and domestic relief, military drill instruction, car and motorcycle maintenance, water purification, languages, sociology, radio communications, and medical first responder.
