Presenting the 34th Miss Indian New Mexico Onawa (Lacy) Haynes.

Onawa (Lacy) Haynes was Miss Indian New Mexico 34 (2001-2002). She currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with her husband and 2 children. Onawa received her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor’s Degrees in English and Native American Studies from the University of New Mexico. After MINM Onawa went on to hold the titles of Miss Indian World 2003 and Miss New Mexico USA 2006 and competed at Miss USA in Baltimore, MD. Onawa is a contract grant writer through her company Haynes Consulting and works full-time for Thorn, an nonprofit organization founded by Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. Thorn develops software to defend children from sexual abuse www.thorn.org

Annual Area 3 Luncheon provided by the Delta Chapter of Alpha Pi Omega Sorority to the Area 3 Maintenance workers at UNM. This luncheon came together with the work of the Delta and Epsilon Pi Chapters as well as sisters in the area. It was a great experience to engage in conversations between UNM Staff and students over a delicious meal.
