One of the challenges of being a long lived human being is reconciling the linear nature of our life span with the recurring cyclical nature of the seasons. The Institute for Compassionate Community is moving into a new direction with the inclusion of a variety of different workshops with a focus on leadership for young people. The three and six hour workshops, using experiential and critical thinking methods will address decision making, creativity and team building.

The Institute for Compassionate Community is undergoing metamorphosis as it transitions from one group of folks to another, with people retiring and others moving out of state. The 'work' remains to be done, the work never ceases but its manifestation moves in new and unpredictable directions. The key elements of generating joy is consistent. The key element of gathering community for positive action is consistent.

Ethics shift like all human activities when the conflicting forces at work require we adapt as a species to new circumstances and challenges.

As we enter the cold seasons, a time of harvest and reflection, as we prepare to go inward, prior to hibernation, right before full on Winter, ask yourselves what kind of world do we want for our grandchildren? Do we want our grand children to live in fear and hunger? or with security and abundance? what we do now, will impact our grandchildren and their children's children...
