Hosted by the MVES PTA, this event is a wonderful opportunity to shop local and support our school community.

Did you know that Monte Vista has a school garden? Our amazing teachers Ms Dayton and Ms Grace are working with MVES students in the Planeteers Club to care for the garden and be good stewards of nature. Last week the Planeteers students were able to try Dakota Black popcorn that was grown in the MVES school garden! 🌽🌱☀️🧑‍🌾🪏

Join MVES for an evening under the stars with members of the Albuquerque Astronomical Society!
Activities include:
🔭 High-Power Telescopes: Solar viewing at sunset and night sky observations (Saturn, the Moon) — Courtyard near the gym
🌠 Planetarium Shows: 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00 PM (limit 40 people per show, tickets first come first served) — Gym
🌌 “Fab Fifty” Constellation Presentations — Room A-112 (Ms. Grace’s classroom)
🍪 Moon Pies for all!

Hi Penguins! Our fabulous librarian, Ms. Lori, has kicked off the month of October with some exciting reading challenges. Earn a charm for your MVES PRIDE necklace when you read 400 minutes this month! 📚

You’re invited to an evening of art, drumming, and nature walks at the Sandia Mountain Natural History Center, featuring artworks by 5th grade students from A. Montoya, Monte Vista, and San Antonito elementary schools. Many thanks to MVES art teacher Ms. Emma for coordinating this amazing opportunity for fifth graders! 🎨⛰️🥾🖼️

It was a lovely morning for Balloons Aloft at MVES! 🎈🍁☀️ Many thanks to the pilots and crews of the Infinitude and the Rebel Angel balloons for kicking off Balloon Fiesta with our students, teachers, and families. And a big thank you to Hurricane’s 🌯, Starbucks ☕️, and our school food service staff for providing breakfast munchies — and to all the volunteers who helped bring this special event back to our school! 🏫 💪🏽

MVES Penguins! Celebrate Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 8th by walking, biking, bussing, or getting dropped off a little farther away to enjoy a walk.🚶🚴‍♂️🚌 Free swag available on the front lawn (first come, first served). For parents driving that day—please use extra caution around campus. 😀

MVES community! After a multi-year hiatus, ABQ ALOFT is back at Monte Vista. 🎉 We’ll have two hot air balloons inflate on the playground field from 7am-9am on Friday, October 3. Breakfast burritos, coffee & hot cocoa will be available for purchase (cash preferred). Join us to celebrate the start of Balloon Fiesta right here on campus! ☀️🍁🌯☕️🎈
