The Mythopoeic Society hosts more events than just Mythcon! If you weren't aware, we also host a series of online-only events called OMS. If you haven't yet attended an OMS, you can get a good idea of what they are about with the conference proceedings from this year's event which have just been published by Mythopoeic Press. You can also view the recordings of the conference (which includes even more presentations!) on our archive: https://dc.swosu.edu/oms/oms4/
Just released! This collection of papers presented at the Mythopoeic Society's 2025 online conference focuses on intersectional feminist approaches to women and gender in fantasy, science fiction, speculative fiction, and other mythopoeic work. The conference honored the first anthology on women and Tolkien, Perilous and Fair: Women in the Works and Life of J.R.R. Tolkien (2015), edited by Janet Brennan Croft and Leslie A. Donovan. Available in paperback ($10) and e-book ($8).

Happy Hobbit Day Mythies! We come bearing mathoms.... It is my pleasure to share that the paper and panel presentation recordings from Mythcon 53 have all been posted on the Mythopoeic Society's digital archive. All recordings can be accessed via this page: https://dc.swosu.edu/mythcon/mc53/
Please note, we are aware that a handful of the videos have issues with the quality of the audio recording where the audio is quiet or difficult to hear. Please accept our apologies for these issues, which are a result of a mixture of technical and practical difficulties. We will seek to improve the consistency of the audio quality for future
in-person events.
And finally, I'd like to extend my appreciation to the Mythcon 53
organizing committee, contributors, and attendees for a successful
event. Especially to Janet & David for co-chairing the event.

The CFP for : Fantasies of the Middle Lands is now live! The idea of “middle-ness” can suggest stability—the center of an object is less likely to break than its edges. It can also suggest the opposite: something in a state of change can be said to be “in the middle”—neither one thing nor another. Mythcon 53, located in the middle of the continental U.S., welcomes papers exploring the concept of “middle-ness” as it is worked out in fantasy, science fiction, and related genres.
