Congratulations 2nd grade!!

Encouraging news for early literacy in APS! 📚✨

Midyear data shows strong gains in reading proficiency among first and second-grade students, especially within historically underserved student groups. Several elementary schools saw increases of more than 20 percentage points since the start of the school year, a testament to the hard work of students, educators and families across our district.

Josiah saved 100 Meep Meep Bucks to purchase the chance to be Principal for the Day from the Roadrunner Corner Store! He did morning announcements, walked tardy friends to class, and did lunch duty in the cafeteria. He was famous in the halls as "Principal Josiah" 💛💙💛💙

A HUGE shout out and thank you to for bring some incredible birds of prey for our 4th grade students to learn about!! The birds were fascinating, and the students learned so much about these majestic creatures.

HUGE shout out to Coach Bowen and the City of Albuquerque for bringing the Bike Rodeo to our 3rd and 4th grade students this week! Students learned how to ride or got to improve their skills if they already knew how to ride! They also learned about safety equipment and general rules of the road. A great time was had by all!

So proud of the work of our staff to ensure that ALL students on our campus are empowered to thrive!

🚸 Attendance matters from day one. Did you know kindergartners miss more school than any other elementary grade and that those early absences can have lasting consequences?

Chronic absenteeism in kindergarten (missing 10%+ of the year) isn’t just linked to lower reading and math scores, but also to declines in key skills like memory, focus, and problem-solving. Every day in class builds the foundation for lifelong learning and success.
