The Math and Science Bureau at NMPED is excited to announce the launch of Cohort 2 for NUMeROS (Numeracy Unlocks Math Rigor in Our Students) math micro-credential series. NUMeROS is designed to build mathematics content knowledge for K–5 teachers and provide them with the resources needed to build strong conceptual knowledge and mathematical reasoning for elementary students.

Two tailored pathway options:

Rockin' Around New Mexico

Rockin' Around New Mexico is a geology workshop for teachers that will take place in Socorro from July 9-11 at the New Mexico Bureau of Geology. No previous geologic experience is necessary. In this workshop, teachers will be going to the Very Large Array, learning about robots and rovers, traveling to the Magdalena Ridge Observatory, learning about Google Earth and Google Mars, and visiting the NMT Seismic Observatory station. 2025 New Mexico Excellence in STEM Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2025 New Mexico Excellence in STEM Awards (also known as The STEMYS). The STEMYS honor New Mexicans doing exceptional work in, and in support of, science, technology, engineering, and math education. Q Station hosts the STEMYS in partnership with the Air Force Research Lab’s Tech Engagement Office, which created the awards in 2018 to highlight STEM work throughout the state. Nominations will be accepted through March 28, 2025.
