Our biological anthropology students just wrapped up a fun semester of phylogenetic comparative methods with Dr. Adam Gordon! This class explored how to account for relatedness among species when conducting comparative analyses and how these methods can also be utilized in the study of cultural and linguistic transmission.

On Friday, AGSA was proud to support our fellow anthropology graduate and undergraduate students being honored at the Institute for Mesoamerican Studies DeCormier Awards. 📣Grad Student Spotlight📣

This semester, PhD candidate Dan Wilcox is teaching a course on experimental archaeology. In this class, students learn different experimental techniques to investigate how material and tools that are found in the archaeological record might have been used in the past. In today’s class, students explored use-wear patterns by cutting different materials with different types of stone flakes.
