📣End of Semester Shoutout📣
Our biological anthropology students just wrapped up a fun semester of phylogenetic comparative methods with Dr. Adam Gordon! This class explored how to account for relatedness among species when conducting comparative analyses and how these methods can also be utilized in the study of cultural and linguistic transmission.

This weekend several of our archaeology graduate students attended and presented at the Society for American Archaeology Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California! We love to see all the cool work our anthro students do!

📣Grad Student Spotlight📣
This semester, PhD candidate Dan Wilcox is teaching a course on experimental archaeology. In this class, students learn different experimental techniques to investigate how material and tools that are found in the archaeological record might have been used in the past. In today’s class, students explored use-wear patterns by cutting different materials with different types of stone flakes.
