Brook has been such a fun part of my senior model team, and I’m so glad I get to photograph her throughout her senior year. 🤍

We first met at my spring floral event for my Class of 2026 model team, and I had a feeling we were going to have a lot of fun together. Three sessions later, I can confirm I was right.

So far we’ve done florals, the beach, and Baskett Slough, and I’m already looking forward to what’s next.

My senior model team gets to be the face of JWP throughout their senior year, with some students even joining early enough to participate in the spring of their junior year.

Each model gets a custom session of their own, plus invitations to at least three model team sessions throughout the year. Basically, lots of variety, lots of photos, and plenty of content for those Senior Sunday posts. 😍

My favorite part is that they get an entire year of experiences instead of just one senior session.

And Class of 2027, if a beach session is on your senior photo wish list, now is the time to reach out. Beach sessions are at their best through October, and after that Oregon weather starts making its own decisions. 🌊

If you've followed my page for any time at all, you probably know that one of my FAVORITE things is working with my senior model team. They're the face of my business for the year, and I LOVE getting to work with them throughout their senior year. All of my Class of '27 team members have now had their individual sessions, and we just had our first group session (so fun!), so I thought it would be a good time to introduce the team. Over the next couple weeks, I'll be sharing a little about each team member.

Let's start with Shannon! We had her session at Mary's Peak right before my first backpacking trip ever, and since she's a backpacker, she was able to ease some of my nerves and give me some tips. Her session was so much fun and I'm excited for the next.

Want to know a secret? The first few minutes of a session are awkward.

I just want to say that out loud so nobody feels like they're the only one. 😂

You will not know what to do with your hands. You’ll feel like your face is making a weird expression. You’ll be very aware that there is a camera pointing at you, and your body will briefly forget how to be a normal human.

Totally fine.

This is expected. And it happens to almost everyone.

But I promise I’ll guide you through your whole session and it will shift. You’ll relax and start to have fun and we’ll create gorgeous photos together.

I promise, most of the people you see on my Instagram felt awkward at first, too. Then we got past those first few minutes and you’d never know they were nervous by looking at their final gallery.

I’ll do the same for you.

So if you show up nervous, welcome. You’re in very good company. 🤍

Location spotlight: Mary's Peak (featuring the amazing .howard15 !)

This is one of my very favorite locations 🌄(I was going to explain why, but the pictures do a better job telling that story). Read on to hear my thoughts on locations, and save this post if Mary's Peak is one you're thinking of for your session.

One thing you do NOT have to figure out before you contact me is your location.
I hear this all the time:
“We want to book, but we have no idea where to go.”
Perfect. 😊
That’s part of my job.
After 15 years of photographing seniors all over Oregon, I have a long list of locations that work depending on your style, season, and vibe.

You don’t need a plan before you reach out. That's my best location advice.

September and October are filling up faster than I expected, and Saturdays especially are almost gone. If fall photos have been sitting on your to-do list, now is a really good time to reach out.
