The National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) project is a federal initiative that collects infor NYTD stands for the National Youth in Transition Database.

We’re looking to bring our NYTD youth together on Facebook by starting a private group. Only youth who have participated in the NYTD survey are able to join the group. You can discuss your experience, make friends, and find out about resources in a safe, youth-only space. You’ll also receive reminders about your eligibility for upcoming NYTD surveys so you can receive your gift card for participation.

Eligible youth will receive a $50 gift card for participating. We send gift cards online to give you a bunch of store options! Sephora, Nike, Target, just to name a few.

We are currently looking for youth who are 20 and 21 years old who previously took our survey when they were 17 years old.

Are you 21 years old? Did you take a NYTD survey when you were 17? Are you willing to lend your voice to help make a difference in foster care services for other youth?

New York's National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) survey is continuing to reach out to youth. Right now, we are in the process of surveying 21 year old youth. If you took the survey when you were 17, you'll be hearing from us one last time. Your feedback is important to improving the foster care system in New York State. As with previous surveys, you will receive a gift card upon completion of the survey. For the 21 year old survey, you will receive a $50 gift card!

In order to take the survey again at 21, we need to make sure that we have the correct contact information for you. You can call Ruth Lindenfelser, NYTD Facilitator, at 518-591-8732 or email Ruth at [email protected] to provide updated contact information. You can also visit our website, NYTD.org to update your contact information. Or you can contact our interviewer, Helen, toll free at 844-220-5887.

Do you have personal experience in the foster care system as well as the juvenile justice system? If so, the members of the National Foster Care Youth and Alumni Policy Council want to hear from you!

Cross over youth often become lost in between systems and face multiple barriers to services that could really help. Council members are hoping to unpack these barriers and target the systemic changes that must be made so that cross over youth can grow and thrive in a safe environment.

Attention any current or former youth in care in the New Jersey area: The Transitions for Youth program is seeking talented and outgoing young adults (18 or older) who have current or past involvement with a public child welfare, juvenile justice and/or children’s system of care agency to work as per diem trainer consultants. The Young Adult Trainer will co-facilitate training modules focusing on adolescent development, resilience, social connections, and additional material based on the Center for the Study of Social Policy’s “Youth Thrive” Framework.

Learn more about 19 year old Briana and her experience participating in "Foster Youth Shadow Day" at Congress earlier this week.
