Later this month, our region will have a unique and profound opportunity to gather and pay our respects to one of our own.
On Monday, June 29th at 10:00 AM, the National EMS Memorial Moving Honors (https://www.national-ems-memorial.org/events-2/moving-honors/) procession will be making a special tribute stop at the LifeNet Ticonderoga Base (1203 State Hwy 9N, Ticonderoga, NY 12883).
This traveling memorial crosses the country to remember emergency medical and air medical providers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. This year's procession is stopping specifically to honor the memory and line-of-duty sacrifice of paramedic Kevin Robert.
Because the caravan is on a tight national schedule enroute to the national Weekend of Honor, this tribute stop will be brief.
We want to ensure a strong showing from our EMS, air medical, and first responder community to stand together, support Kevin’s family, and honor his legacy. Because space at the base is limited and the timing is precise, we need to provide organizers with a rough head count of attendees as soon as possible.
Please shoot a message to Mike McEvoy to let him know if you (and any colleagues, crew members, or family) plan to attend, the total number of people in your group, and if you plan to bring apparatus ([email protected]).
Thank you for your dedication to our EMS family, and for helping us show Kevin’s loved ones how much his service meant to all of us.

Improving Outcomes, Together
Every EMS clinician carries one call with them forever, not because of heroism, but because of humanity. A child whose breathing finally stabilized. A grandmother whose hand was held until her family arrived. A stranger who, despite fear and pain, chose to place their trust in them.
These moments rarely make headlines, yet they shape outcomes and change lives. And those outcomes extend far beyond vital signs. They mean people returning home, families staying together, and communities feeling safer because someone was there when it mattered most.
Today’s EMS clinicians bring advanced skills and innovative tools to every call. Evolving models of care now serve patients in big cities, tribal lands, rural plains, and everywhere in between. From prehospital ultrasound and early stroke recognition to whole blood transfusion, these advancements are making a measurable difference long before a patient reaches the hospital.
But improving outcomes extends beyond medicine. It is also a shared responsibility to invest in the people behind the care through fair pay, safe staffing levels, mental health resources, leadership that listens and acts, and opportunities for professional growth.
This week, we recognize the people behind the patch and reaffirm our commitment — as partners, professionals, and communities — to improving outcomes, together.
