A Little Understanding Goes a Long Way 💙

We’ve had quite a few people ask why we keep the lights turned down in the shop, so I wanted to share a little bit of the “why” behind it. 🫶🏼

For those who may not know, my little guy is autistic and nonverbal. As his mom, it’s incredibly important to me to create an environment where he feels safe, comfortable, and at ease. Keeping the lights lower helps make our space more sensory-friendly for him—and for others who may be sensitive to bright lights and overstimulation.

I absolutely love this video because it gives us a glimpse into what some autistic children experience every single day. Things that may seem small or completely normal to one person can feel overwhelming to another.

So when you walk into Risen Nutrition and notice the lights are dimmed, just know there’s a reason behind it. ❤️

Our goal is to create a space where EVERYONE feels welcome, comfortable, and accepted.

Thank you for being patient, understanding, and gracious with us and with one another. You never truly know what someone else may be experiencing behind the scenes. 💙
