⚡Leadership is care. Everything else builds from there.⚡
That simple statement from my latest guest, Andre Young, perfectly captures what great leadership is all about. 📣 New episode dropped today: https://bit.ly/3QiW7JG
In this new episode of The BOLT Podcast, Andre shares lessons from his journey as a mental health therapist, leadership trainer, author, and entrepreneur. We dive into why so many leaders struggle, how burnout can become a catalyst for growth, and why work-life harmony matters more than work-life balance.
💪 A few powerful takeaways:
• Most leaders are promoted before they're taught how to lead
• Difficult conversations become easier when trust comes first
• Being busy doesn't mean you're getting better
• What you consume each morning shapes your mindset
• The best leaders make time for intentional self-reflection
If you're a leader, manager, business owner, parent, or simply someone committed to personal growth, this conversation is filled with practical wisdom you can apply immediately.

"If you change the nature and quality of the conversations in your team, your outcomes will improve exponentially. Psychological safety is the core component to unlock this."
This powerful insight comes from Amy Edmondson's book, The Fearless Organization, and it has become one of the foundational pillars of research for the IMPACT component of my SPARK Framework.
The best teams aren't afraid to speak up, challenge ideas, ask questions, and learn from mistakes.
🤜 That's the power of psychological safety.
Change the conversation. Change the outcome.

Do you know the meaning of your name? And do you think it reflects who you've become?
🔥This was easily one of the most unique podcast conversations I've ever had. 🎙️ When Jayma DuChene, invited me onto her show, I assumed we'd be talking about leadership, mindset, mental fitness, or my SPARK Framework.
Instead, we talked about my name.
Specifically, what the name "Todd" means and whether our names influence who we become.
But as fascinating as that conversation was, the real story for me was Jayma's.
She took a simple curiosity about her own name and turned it into a podcast exploring onomatology, the study of names. More than 100 episodes later, she's built an entire platform around a question most of us never stop to ask. And is currently working on a follow-up book.
What really stood out to me was how she used this curiosity to reignite her SPARK. And that's exactly how meaningful things begin.

🧠 Learning Today - Leading Tomorrow ⚡
Yesterday, my daughter graduated from 8th grade.
It was a beautiful ceremony filled with messages about leadership, curiosity, growth, character, and the future.
As I sat there watching her walk across the stage, I couldn't help but reflect on my own 8th-grade experience at Goodyear Middle School. It was very, very different.
There was no graduation ceremony. No conversations about leadership or personal growth. At that stage of my life, it felt more like survival than preparation for the future.
In that moment, I realized this was more about progress than anything else. Not just for my daughter, but for our family. Every generation has an opportunity to create a different experience for the next.
Watching her celebrate this milestone reminded me that change is possible. Growth is possible. New chapters are possible.
I'm incredibly proud of the young woman she's becoming and grateful for all the teachers, coaches, mentors, family members, and friends who have helped light her spark along the way. Especially Mr. Harris.
👏 Congratulations, sweetie. Archbishop Hoban High School awaits!
And to anyone navigating change right now, remember:
The future doesn't have to look like the past.

Many high achievers think they’re burned out when in reality they’ve simply outgrown the habits, identity, or environment that once helped them succeed.
In this week’s newsletter, inspired by my conversation with Megan Leasher on The BOLT Podcast, we explore:
• The hidden difference between burnout and misalignment
• The “smoke signals” leaders ignore for too long
• Why what got you here won’t get you there
• The subtle habits that quietly hold high performers back
Sometimes growth doesn’t require doing more.
Sometimes it requires letting go.
