The Xi of South Carolina Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society inducted five new members - Tiffany Carnell, Katelyn Lewis, Jewell Russell, Ry Wisham, and Alahni Wolford - during the annual Celebration of Sociology event on April 23, 2026. Dr. Ashaad Hipps, a 2018 graduate, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, crediting his professors' small gestures as motivation for his success. The Department of Sociology also recognized outstanding students, announced scholarship recipients, and bid farewell to graduating seniors. This ceremony showcased the department's commitment to student achievement and sociological excellence.

Our panelists from SC Law Enforcement Division, Aiken Solicitors’ Office, SC Department of Juvenile Justice, and Aiken Department of Public Safety shared their expertise and inspired us with their career stories.
