CAPC will be providing meals for children 18 and under who reside in Jefferson County with our 5 week Summer Meals for Kids program. The box will consist of a 5 day supply of lunches/snacks, and will be picked up on a weekly basis. Weekly registrations will open up the week prior to pickup, with the first pick up on Friday, July 12th. Once open, the registration form will be available on our social media sites.

We would like to thank the Northern New York Community Foundation for the $1000 grant from the Community Support Fund. This grant is designated to support the purchase of food items for the SJ Backpack Program. The South Jeff Backpack Program provides bags of food to over 60 families each week in our school district at a cost of over $800 every week. We are funded solely on donations from our community. We are thankful for the support of the Northern New York Community Foundation to our program.

Thanks to the South Jefferson Sources of Strength group for holding the "Stuff the Truck" event this past weekend to support the South Jeff Backpack Program,Inc. We had a great turnout with very generous community support!

Thank you to the Six Town Community Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation for their recent grant to our program. With their help we will be able to purchase food from the Food Bank of CNY to help stock our pantry. It DOES take a whole village!

We are very fortunate to receive a $500 grant from the Northern New York Community Foundation LEAD Council Fund to support the purchase of food for the SJ Backpack Program. This grant was made possible because of the generosity of donors devoted to helping enhance the quality of life in our region through the Foundation. THANK YOU!!!

HERE IS AN AMAZING EXAMPLE OF WHAT A GREAT COMMUNITY WE LIVE IN. The South Jeff Class of 1982 held a Christmas Advent Food Drive for us. The amount of food they collected for the Backpack Program was incredible! Thank you to all who organized this and all who contributed.

We would like to send a huge thank you to the Youth Philanthropy Council of the Northern New York Community Foundation for their recent Grant to our program. This Grant will help to purchase food for our South Jeff community children who are food insecure. We couldn't do what we do without the great support of our community! According to Feeding America, 48,590 children in our service area faced food insecurity as of 2020. The Food Bank's child nutrition programs, including after-school and backpack initiatives, work to increase access to healthy food for school-aged children and their families.

We're grateful to Feeding America and Chick-fil-A for the recent grant support allowing us to grow our child nutrition programming in St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties. To learn more about child nutrition and other programs, visit fbcny.org/programs.

We would like to thank Music for the Mission for their generous support of the South Jeff Backpack Program,Inc. Music for the Mission is proud to lend a helping hand to those that need it the most. Their belief that music’s communal nature will be the perfect union for local nonprofits geared towards serving the thousands of individuals who lack sufficient food or adequate shelter in Central New York has proven to be successful and superbly rewarding. We have been the fortunate recipient of a $1,000 LEAD Impact Grant from the Northern New York Community Foundation. The LEAD Council and its grant program are supported through the thoughtful generosity of the Hyde-Stone Charitable Foundation of the Northern New York Community Foundation, Carthage Savings and Loan Association, Morgia Wealth Management, and donors to the Community Foundation’s Friends of the Foundation Annual Community Betterment Fund.
We are grateful that the LEAD Council could make this investment in support of the South Jefferson Backpack Program. Funding will help purchase food to strengthen inventory for the program.
