Today, the Abilene Education Foundation presented a $4,500 check to the Friends of Dyess Families foundation. These funds were raised by AISD students and private donors who came together to support Dyess families during the government shutdown. 💜

Thank you to everyone who supported this effort, a true example of what makes Abilene such a special place to call home!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Abilene ISD VATRE. Results are in and the VATRE did pass. A total of 7,578 ballots were cast - 4,137 FOR and 3,441 AGAINST.

Additional parking at Taylor Elementary school was identified by Principal Leslye Roberts as a huge need, especially on event nights like last night’s Fall Festival. Soon after she and I talked about this need, we got some incredible people together from ACU (who owns this land next to Taylor), Principal Roberts, and our AISD Facilities Department Leaders to develop a plan. Less than one month later, AISD and ACU once again join forces to meet a need for our community!!

Taylor Parents, if you know, you know, this is a HUGE win!!!

Thank you Kevin Campbell and Blair Schroeder at ACU for being open to an agreement to do this project!!
