Exciting day for the ATTA this Friday!

In reflection of the The ATTA's Grand Opening Celebration yesterday, I am realizing my reign as Miss Abbeville is coming to a close. However, my advocacy for Abbeville, the ATTA, and STEM education, will surely continue, hopefully, with even greater purpose. Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I am deeply grateful for every moment of this journey.

I was truly honored to speak on behalf of the ATTA alongside my grandmother, Nicey Eller, and my grandfather, Jay Eller, both dedicated Advisory Board Members. I am equally thankful for the opportunity to work behind the scenes in preparation with the incredible ATTA staff and my mother, Monica Eller, ATTA Projects Coordinator.

My time learning from Executive Director Kate Killebrew, as well as Lester Howard Killebrew and their wonderful family, has been invaluable. I am also so grateful for the guidance and support of our community leaders and friends, including ATTA Inspiration Director Anita Brown and STEM Coordinator Myra Nichols Hicks.

There are so many others who have supported and shaped my life and growing experience.

I love ABBEVILLE with all my heart, and I am committed to representing it well long after this crown is placed on a shelf.

So very proud and happy for my Abbeville and ATTA family!

Susie Atta, a mathematician from Henry County, dreamed of a place that could show children the possibilities for their futures. Atta’s family made that vision a reality in Abbeville.

Abbeville's Community Prayer Walk and Ecumenical Community Thanksgiving Service was tonight. Our town is blessed to have an amazing alliance of City and Church leaders that can come together in prayer. Teams met on the courthouse lawn to divide up and pray over our schools, government buildings, businesses, and residents. The prayer walk concluded with an amazing service hosted by Abbeville Methodist Church with Jeff Brewer of Calvary Baptist delivering a phenomenal message. Humbled and blessed to participate not only as a resident, but also as a City representative. Give thanks to our God. Praying for Seeds, Rooted in Christ. His love endures forever!
