Karamoja Tumaini Network

Karamoja Tumaini Network Karamoja Tumaini Network (KTN) is a visionary, Karamojong‑led non‑profit dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Uganda.

Founded to end the phenomenon of street‑connected children from Karamoja region, KTN operates through a community‑owned, culturally authentic and innovative model. We are recognised by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and operational districts across Karamoja. Rooted in the principles of dignity, cultural authenticity and resilience, KTN’

s mission is to restore hope—“tumaini” in Swahili language—to children who have been forced to leave their homes for the streets of Uganda’s cities. With 90 % of our staff and leadership drawn from the Karamojong community, our programmes are authentic, community‑driven and trusted by the families we serve. By empowering local leaders and working closely with government and partners, we are building a future where every Karamojong child can thrive in safety, culture and opportunity.
